SLAUGHTERHOUE

There’s been a debate lately overwhich group is better, Young Money or Slaughterhouse

This week's artist of the week is Christopher Turner from Atlanta. Check out one of his single's above & his interview inside. This guy's dope!

1. What made you want to get in the music industry?
-“Initially I never wanted be involved with the industry. I just wanted to make good music. I had a manager at the time with a lot of industry connects. He had bigger dreams for me than I had for myself. I would ultimately start writing for other artist & establishing myself within the industry. “

2. How old where you when you discovered your artistic talents?
-I would say around 10. “I would write rhythms to the end of songs. Ya know, like the last 30 seconds, when the instrumental would play…I always had a way with words though. I was always obsessed with expressing myself creatively. I was an only child growing up in a chaotic

3. What song do you love performing the most?
-“It depends on what city we in. Overall, I’d have to say One Thing Featuring Netta. I prefer performing more intimate songs and Netta kills that hook vocally.”

4. How are you handling ya recent success?
-“Staying Humble and Keeping everything in perspective. I keep real individuals & family close to me at all times. At times it could be difficult, but I always try to remember this is bigger than my individual success. My success is defined by the success of my family and peers.”

5. What's this Alumni family movement I'm hearing about? Can you tell us a little about it?
-“I consider Atlanta to be THE hip hop capital of the world. Artist all over the nation are moving here to get their careers jump started.  International music companies spend millions in marketing dollars to promote their product in Atlanta every year. All that being said; the city of Atlanta has THE WORST quality of music and musician in the nation. This is the reason I started The Alumni Family LLC. I wanted to bring together the few dope emcees and creative artist to spearhead a monumental masterpiece of a movement. I understood taking over this city (Atlanta) would mean taking over the world. BTW shout out da Family….

6. Where do you see yourself in 2012?
-“Working harder and unfortunately spending more time away from my family.”

7. Who's your biggest influence?
-“I grew up listening to rappers like Nas, Az, Big L, & The Late Great Christopher Wallace. Those influences are embedded in the foundation of who I am as an artist today. Unfortunately No One is nice enough to influence me today.

8. I see in 2011 you had a mixtape named 2012 flow where did that whole concept come from?
-“Really I just wanted a generic title that everyone would remember. It wasn’t really a conceptual mixtape. I just compiled one months worth of dope songs. My PR representatives are gonna be pissed off by this answer….

9. What words of advice do you have for the younger generation trying to get in the music industry?
-"Stay true to yourself. Make music that speaks to who you are. All new comers should also respect the art and foundation of this shit. Discover what it is you can bring to the art."

10. Tell our viewers & future fans how they can follow you & even hear more of you're music?
-You can follow, watch, and hear more from me www.cstylesturner.com. Also go download (The Profound Paradox) at www.Datpiff.com. Lastly The Opportunity Cost Mixtape is coming March!!!
